Our Spotlight On series was created to give us the chance to show off our amazing staff, volunteers and donor--without whom Miller Auditorium would not be what it is today.
Tracey Lawie is the Director of Marketing & Programming here at Miller Auditorium. She oversees all marketing efforts at Miller including season, individual shows, public relations, social media and more. She also books most of the shows that come to Miller and collaborates with other staff members to select shows.
She has been at Miller for 18 years and working at Western Michigan University for 21. Tracey has seen many performances in that time. Her favorites include Peter, Paul and Mary, East Village Opera Company, Roberta Flack, Wicked, Avenue Q, Miss Saigon, Matchbox Twenty and Motown the Musical.
Tracey can’t quite pinpoint one memory that is her favorite of her time at Miller, but she always enjoys getting to take various cast members around for their media interviews and getting to know them. She also loves sharing her passion for theater at private donor dinners on stage. She enjoys seeing new and familiar faces at all the shows that come through our doors.
Outside of her work, Tracey enjoys road trips with her husband, crocheting in the winter months and recently has taken up playing the ukulele. She also likes to stay active and spends most of the summer training for and doing triathlons. She has been a team leader for Borgess Run Camp for seven years!
When asked about the most useless talent she has, Tracey admitted that she was a unique way of whistling that is very high-pitched and can make dogs go crazy! Thanks to Tracey for all she does to help make Miller Auditorium a great place to visit.
