Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, from favorite 80’s group Air Supply, will be coming to the Miller stage Saturday, April 18! Graham and Russell met in the mid-70’s in Sydney, Australia and became instant friends due to their love of music, singing and the Beatles. After gaining a following throughout Sydney, they sent their records to companies throughout Australia, but were turned down by all except CBS Records who admired their unique sound and style. After signing with CBS Records, they made hit after hit that topped the national charts and the rest is Air Supply history.
When they created their album “Life Support” in 1979, it had many treasures of songs that caught the attention of music industry executive Clive Davis in New York. When they were immediately signed in the 80’s, their song “Lost in Love” became the fastest selling single in the world hitting the top of all the charts. This recognition gave them a huge following in the U.S. Seven top-five singles later, Air Supply had equaled The Beatles' run of consecutive top fives. The albums Lost in Love, The One That You Love, Now & Forever and The Greatest Hits sold in excess of 20 million copies. "Lost in Love" was named Song of the Year in 1980, and, with the other singles, sold more than 10 million copies.
Air Suppy was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Australian Recording Industry Association and marked their 40th year together--what better time for you to come see an Air Supply show at Miller?
